Overview

Piggey.ai ("we," "us," or "our") helps you organize personal finances by importing transaction data you provide, categorizing spending, and offering AI-assisted insights. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

By creating an account or using the service, you agree to this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use Piggey.ai.

Information we collect

Account information. When you sign up, our authentication provider (Clerk) processes your email address and credentials. We receive a user identifier linked to your account.

Financial data you provide. This includes bank or card transactions you import (for example via CSV), account names, categories, classification rules, subscription patterns, reports, and preferences such as display currency and exchange rates.

AI interactions. When you use features such as Penny (our AI assistant) or AI-powered report building, we send relevant context—such as transaction summaries, category names, and your messages—to third-party AI providers (for example Anthropic or OpenAI, depending on configuration) to generate responses.

Technical data. Like most web applications, we may receive standard server logs (IP address, browser type, request timing) through our hosting infrastructure for security and reliability.

How we use your information

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the service
  • Store and display your transactions, categories, and reports
  • Run categorization, subscription detection, and trend analysis
  • Power AI-assisted features you request
  • Respond to support requests and protect against abuse

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your transaction data for third-party advertising.

Where data is stored

Your account and financial data are stored on servers we operate or contract with (for example Cloudflare D1 or equivalent database hosting). Data is associated with your user account and is not shared with other users.

Piggey.ai does not connect directly to your bank. You choose what files or data to import.

Third-party services

We rely on trusted providers to run the product, including:

  • Clerk — authentication and account management
  • AI providers — processing prompts and context for AI features you use
  • Hosting and infrastructure — serving the application and storing data

These providers process data according to their own privacy policies and our agreements with them. We share only what is needed for them to perform their role.

Data retention and deletion

We retain your data while your account is active and as needed to provide the service. You may delete your data using in-app controls (for example "Clear all data" in Settings). Deleting your Clerk account may not automatically delete all application data—contact us if you need a full account erasure.

We may retain limited information where required by law or for legitimate security and backup purposes.

Security

We use industry-standard measures such as encrypted connections (HTTPS) and access controls tied to authenticated accounts. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete personal information. To exercise these rights, email support@piggey.ai. We will respond within a reasonable time.

You can stop using AI features at any time by not invoking them; other features will continue to work without sending data to AI providers.

Children

Piggey.ai is not intended for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

International users

If you access the service from outside Canada, your information may be processed in Canada or other countries where our providers operate. By using the service, you consent to that transfer.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised version on this page and update the "Last updated" date. Material changes may be communicated through the app or by email where appropriate.
